The three year construction period follows decades of waiting, expectation and planning and what has been a dream for many is now a reality.
The £145million bridge, with its iconic design, has changed our skyline forever. It will make it easier to travel around Lowestoft, it will reduce congestion and it will help attract new businesses to the area.
It is essential that it acts as a catalyst for change, enabling existing companies to grow and attracting new firms offering skilled and well paid jobs.
It should also help improve access to the Town Centre, where a number of exciting projects are underway and it will ease congestion in Oulton Broad.
Having helped secure the funding for the bridge, if re-elected, Peter will continue working to ensure that the bridge delivers a lasting legacy for Lowestoft.
